CA. Dr. Chinnsamy Ganesan - Managing Partner & CEO

Professional Journey

Ganesan is a gold medalist of Annamalai University in Commerce stream and is a first generation chartered accountant. He started his career, with a very humble financial background, as a chartered accountant in 1988 and was in personal practice till 2005. To have specialisation, he joined as a Director in Audit with Lovelock & Lewes (network firm of PwC) and served for for 6 years (between 2005 and 2010). He then joined BSR & Co. LLP (network firm of KPMG) as an Audit partner and servved for 6 years (Between 2010 and 2016). Since his vision is to provide quality services as an Indian Firm of Chartered Accountants with International Quality, he returned his own practice in 2016. The merger of M/s Ramanathan & Krishnan and M/s R R Rajkumar & Associates, Chertered Accountants with M/s Chinnasamy Ganesan and Co. into M/s R K C G & Associates LLP is a significant step taken towards that direction.

Experience & Expertise
Ganesan brings with him more than 36 years of experience in the area of auditing. He has handled/ handling Indian and multi-national clients in automotive, auto ancillary, IT/ ITES, BPOs, KPOs, telecom, industrial markets, consumer markets, pharma/ healthcare, transport/ logistics, shipping management, BSRE, oil and gas, plantation, banking, financial services and insurance sector. He is/ was the lead partner for many Indian and multi-national companies and carried out audits, advisory on international financial reporting, taxation, due diligence and other assurance services.

Ganesan specialises in IFRS, Ind AS, US GAAP, Financial Reporting, Company Law Matters, Audit. He also specialises in direct taxes and international taxation.

Ganesan has presented 1450+ papers at various seminars, workshops and conferences both in India and Overseas on these specialised subjects. He has assisted 80+ companies on Ind AS (IFRS in India) transition and authored several books on financial reporting and Companies Act 2013.

Ganesan served as a co-opted member of (a) Accounting Standard Board of ICAI (the highest Standard Setting Body in India); (b) IFRS (Ind AS) Implementation Committee of ICAI (the committee involved in the implementation of IFRS in India); and (c) Auditing and Assurance Standard Board of ICAI (the ultimate body for setting Standards on Auditing for chartered accountants in India)

Ganesan is advising many boards of Indian and Multi-National Companies and also serves as an Independent Director and Chairman of audit committees in some prestigious corporate boards.

Ganesan is passionate on public speaking and he is an active resource person for the Accounting Standards Board, Ind AS (IFRS) Implementation Committee, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, Continuous Professional Education Directorate, Committee for Members in Industry, Quality Review Board, Peer Review Board etc., of ICAI, All the 5 regional councils of ICAI (SIRC, WIRC, NIRC, EIRC and CIRC), Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, CII, FICCI, Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, Madras Management Association, Business schools like IIM – Bangalore, IIM – Lucknow, Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Institute for Finance and Management Research (IFMR).

Awards
Ganesan was conferred Honorary Doctorate ("honoris causa") in International Financial Reporting Standards for his extensive contribution to Ind AS and IFRS by a renowned foreign university. He is currently pursuing his regular doctoral course on “Impact of IFRS Convergence In India on Compliance, Corporate Governance and Quality of Financial Reporting” with Madurai Kamaraj University.

Ganesan was awarded the prestigious Life Time Achievement Award in Finance from Rotary International District 3233

Beliefs & Thoughts
He believes in building a strong team by learning and developmental activities, team work, delegation of powers, an inclusive growth and leaving a strong legacy in the profession.

Interests and Leisure
Ganesan is also actively involved in various social service organizations and is an active freemason.

He is a passionate writer and he is regularly writing in various Tamil literacy magazines. He has also authored a Tamil Poetry book titled “Nee, Naan, Naam” published by M/s Vanathi Pathipagam. An ardent fan of Kaviyarasar Kannadasan, he made several speeches on Kannadasan and is presently working on a research book on the poetry values in Kannadasan’s film songs.
